Trump picks Kash Patel to head FBI :
FBI directors by law are appointed to 10-year terms as a means of insulating the bureau from politics.
Wray, whom Trump tapped after firing James Comey in 2017 for investigating his 2016 campaign, has been a frequent target of Trump supporters’ ire.
During Wray’s tenure, the FBI carried out a court-approved search at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate to look for classified documents and he has also faced criticism for his oversight role of a directive by Attorney General Merrick Garland aimed at working to protect local school boards from violent threats and harassment.
I am curious to see whether Director Wray will resign or will Trump fire him on Jan 20 (or shortly after), etc.

My Main Worry
Is whether we may be less safe when the new guy is in charge. One example is September 11, it happened under the watch of a new president – Is George W Bush the worst US president in recent memory? Also, besides physical safety, I am more concerned on the online safety, cyber security and so on: as I have seen more and more cyber incidents in recent years. I talked about some of them in my blog posts.

PS:
A related topic. I think for quite a few people, the resiliency will be quite important and relevant. A good example is Andrew McCabe.
…Attorney General Jeff Sessions fired McCabe on March 16, 2018, 26 hours before his scheduled retirement... (note Trump was president on 03-16-2018)
In October 2021, McCabe settled with the Justice Department a wrongful termination suit he had filed in August 2019. As part of the settlement, the government agreed to “rescind and vacate” McCabe’s termination, correct its records “to reflect that Mr. McCabe was employed continuously by the FBI from July 1996 until he retired on March 19, 2018 as the FBI Deputy Director” in “good standing,” restore his pension and other benefits, pay his legal fees and expunge any record of having been fired... (note Biden was president on Oct 2021)
